For several years, the path of Lauvette in Nice East has served as an illegal dumping site. Since this Thursday, February 10, the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolis has deployed its services to clean it up.
Everything was piled up there: mattresses, appliances, trash… In total, this illegal dump, which is on private land, represented 250 cubic meters of waste.
The landowner filed a complaint a year ago, but due to lengthy procedures, the metropolis was only able to intervene at the beginning of the week after receiving approval from the prefecture.
The cleaning of the site is expected to continue until tomorrow before the waste is sorted and permanently disposed of.
Thanks to the services of @MetropoleNCA and @VilledeNice who are hard at work to evacuate everything.#Nice06 pic.twitter.com/sQL82qFYAH

While awaiting a solution to rehabilitate the land so it does not become an illegal dump again, a camera will be installed, reveals Nice Matin. It is equipped with an artificial intelligence system that can, for instance, recognize if a driver is parking or coming to dump waste.
