The 2009 edition of the Gala des Dames de Lenval enabled the funding of monitoring station equipment for the pediatric service of the hospital. The profits collected by the association also served to purchase a fresco created by a painter along with the children from the child psychiatry service. On October 12, Pierre Costa, President of the Lenval Foundation, Bernard Lecat, the General Director, and Christiane Scoffier, President of the Dames de Lenval, inaugurated the monitoring stations in the pediatric service and the frescos in the child psychiatry service, led by Doctor Botari. Let us also recall the numerous initiatives of the Dames de Lenval in favor of the children of the Foundation. The next Gala des Dames will take place on November 5, 2010, at the Acropolis.
Monitoring stations for greater patient safety in pediatrics
They are installed in the two nurses’ duty stations. On a large screen, the information is transmitted by the monitors and sensors connected to the little patients. This allows constant surveillance in case of occasional events.
This continuous monitoring also allows the detection of pathologies that are difficult to diagnose because they are episodic. It is necessary to measure the parameters in the moment. It is important for the diagnosis to be able to capture them and measure the frequency over a longer period.
Frescos created by visual artist Sylvana Gainier with the children of the department
The Dames de Lenval also financed frescos created by Sylvana Gainier in the child psychiatry department headed by Dr. Botari. It welcomes children aged 3 to 12. The artist worked this summer with the help of the hospitalized children. This animation brings movement, color, and life to this department.
The last 14 editions of the prestigious annual Gala organized by these Ladies have allowed them to collect more than 900,000 euros. These donations have contributed to the well-being of the little patients. But also to the acquisition of state-of-the-art medical equipment or innovative and experimental actions with the various services of the Lenval Foundation.
Another action carried out by the Dames de Lenval during the year
Jacques Chibois welcomes the teenage girls in the child psychiatry department for a cooking workshop on October 13. As part of the week of taste and thanks to his unwavering support for hospitalized children, he hosts the teenage girls from the child psychiatry department headed by Professor Florence ASKENAZY of the hospital for an exceptional cooking workshop at the Bastide Saint Antoine. This encounter takes place thanks to the initiative of the Dames de Lenval. They work year-round to improve living and welcoming conditions in the hospital environment. Therapeutic workshops are part of it, and their impact is recognized by the medical community as a whole. The young anorexics hospitalized suffering from communication disorders and who eat “white food” (pasta and yogurt), do not promote conviviality. Hence the idea of having them meet a starred chef to teach them the pleasures of the table: beautiful plates decorated with fine, colorful, and varied dishes, presented like paintings, a pleasure for the eyes… A mix of subtle flavors, evocative scents of a rich and generous nature, pleasure for the senses…
The Dames de Lenval is an association that deserves to be known and supported. Nice Premium does so with a great deal of pleasure as part of its communication with the general public. We will return to this.
