This is not entirely new since it has already been discussed, but this case seems to have finally reached a conclusion. Despite the opposition of its owner (who apparently no longer has a clear idea of its use given the state in which the villa has been for several years), the Villa La Luna located on the Promenade des Anglais will become the legitimate property of the city of Nice and can be restored for public use.
The dispute with the owner has reached its conclusion following the expropriation judge’s order declaring the expropriation of Mrs. AL REFAI’s property.
With an area of approximately 200mยฒ, the “La Luna” villa, listed as a Protected Building by the city in the POS/PLU, consists of one floor above the ground floor and a basement. Its land has been overgrown with unkempt palm trees for several years.
According to Christian Estrosi: โRenovating this iconic villa on the Promenade des Anglais is one of my priorities. It aligns with my desire to restore our architectural heritage, offer even more public services by supporting community activities and family services, and also to be consistent with the Promenade des Anglais’ UNESCO World Heritage listing.โ
How can we imagine such a wasteland embedded in what should be a dream panorama?
Moving from poetry to proseโฆ the provisional schedule plans for taking possession of the premises next September and being operational by December 2017.
After all this time spent, weโre not going to be picky about a month more or less!
