For Robert Injey, leader of the Front de Gauche list for the Nice municipal elections, “The gamble was bold: to have a hundred activists, sympathizers, and friends debate for an entire day. But also trade unionists who responded to the invitation to share, in full respect of their independence, their assessment of the local situation.”
Organized around 5 workshops (Democracy, employment and economic development, ecological transition, living and moving, solidarity, and the reclaiming of public services), these meetings allowed, based on the “management” assessment by Estrosi and the expectations of Nice’s residents, to outline strong directions.
The brainstorming work is far from finished. It will continue in neighborhoods across the city, with citizen meetings to continue the debate, confront opinions, and define priorities as close as possible to the residents. This approach breaks away from programs that magically appear with each election.
“This work, very symbolically, we will start in two of Nice’s most popular neighborhoods: l’Ariane on Thursday, December 5th, and les Moulins on Friday, December 6th. We will then continue on December 13th in the Ray neighborhood. In parallel with these citizen meetings, we will launch a consultation with the entire population, in a form that will be revealed in the coming days,” he added.
For the Front de Gauche in Nice, it will be “Nice, people first” at more than 65%.
