Thierry Braillard, the PRG Secretary of State for Sports, who came to support the French soccer team, made a point to share a drink in the spirit of friendship with the Radical Left members from Alpes-Maritimes.
In his welcome speech, the president of PRG 06, Jean-Christophe Picard, recalled the exemplary career of Thierry Braillard: “Thierry has tirelessly championed the values of the PRG, even when it wasn’t easy. He was thus elected as a deputy in June 2012… without the PS’s endorsement! It’s undoubtedly because he has always shown courage that the President of the Republic, on the proposal of the Prime Minister, entrusted him with sports, where certain bad habits need to be tackled despite sometimes colossal financial stakes.”
Thierry Braillard expressed his pleasure in meeting the Radical Left members from Alpes-Maritimes: “I couldn’t imagine coming to Alpes-Maritimes without meeting my PRG friends!” He also discussed the latest reshuffle and its consequences: “The presidential majority now consists of the PS and the PRG. All socialist federations must understand this and treat the Radical Left as true partners!”
The Secretary of State then engaged in a discussion for nearly an hour with PRG activists. Besides sports, many questions and proposals focused on territorial reform.
