The Parisian Cabaret Club sets its suitcases down for the first time in Nice this Friday, November 17th. Madame Arthur has chosen the Stockfish for her first steps in the Azure capital.
The smallest of Nice’s grand venues hosts the legendary Parisian cabaret for an exceptional evening. Madame Arthur is โalways on a quest to convert the entire world to the phantasmagoric creatures and her eccentric club.โ This is why the cabaret is moving for the first time in its history to Nice on November 17th.
โWe will have the pleasure of welcoming the entire troupe, the decorations, the environment, the program of the well-known Pigalle cabaret,โ enthuses Graig Monetti, deputy mayor of Nice, in charge of Events and Youth, who is proud to boast of โboundless ambitionsโ for this Nice venue.
The Cabaret of Madame Arthur has become a true Parisian institution. Opened in 1946, it was the first drag cabaret in Paris and has seen stars of the genre, such as Bambi and Coccinelle, come and go. Today, it hasn’t abandoned its decadence and continues to evolve with the times.
Its shows blend live singing, piano, and DJ-Set. The French repertoire, from Rรฉgine to Cรฉline Dion, including more modern singers like Jenifer or Aya Nakamura and many others, is revisited in Madame Arthur’s way. Impertinence, laughter, and glitter are on the agenda.
A national ambition
The philosophy of the Stockfish, created two years ago by the city of Nice, is to offer 80% music and 20% humor. And in these two areas, the audience always shows up.
Faced with this success and the stated โwill to progressโ, in its second season, the venue manages to innovate and upscale, as with hosting this famous Parisian cabaret or the XXL evening of the T’Choup Comedy Club on November 29th next captured by the Parisian radio Rires et Chansons. โThe goal is to achieve national prominence for this venue,โ confides Graig Monetti.
The first season welcomed 18,000 spectators. For the second, the objective is to double that number. โWe are a bit further than mid-season, and we are already on a very positive trend since we are above the results we set for ourselves,โ he indicates.
One of the last key dates in the schedule is the concert of The Blaze accompanied by Thom Draft on December 16th. The French duo, fond of electronic music, takes over the venue for โa carte-blanche held in a somewhat peculiar scenographic format,โ explains the official. It will be a โboiler room not with a concert on stage, but in the middle of the audience.โ
