Recognized as a public utility since 1893, the Lenval Foundation wishes to remind through an information campaign that the children treated at Lenval rely on the donations and bequests that have always allowed the Foundation to improve their medical care and living conditions.
The donations and bequests amounted to 10 million euros between 2006 and 2012, whether they came from anonymous individuals, wealthy or modest, from committees or service clubs, etc.
The liberality (donations and bequests) have always played a decisive role in the development of LENVAL. It is thanks to the generosity of the people of the French Riviera that the Foundation has been able to grow from its original two beds to 250 beds and places as part of the Grouping of pediatric services.
Throughout history, LENVAL has received significant donations and bequests, either in cash or in the form of buildings. In the recent period, it is the sale of the buildings that the Foundation had kept that has largely allowed the reconstruction of the children’s hospital on the Promenade des Anglais.
These gifts enable the Lenval hospital to have perfectly suitable facilities and a technical platform that is at the forefront of progress. This ensures, in accordance with the Foundation’s mission, the best care for sick children.
THE LENVAL FOUNDATION
A reference establishment for child care in pediatric medicine and surgery as well as in child and adolescent psychiatry.
This excellence was recognized again in 2010, with a 3rd consecutive certification by the High Authority of Health without any comment or reservation.
To continue progressing, a large part of the hospitalization services at Lenval hospital were merged with those of the Nice University Hospital on August 3, 2010, as part of the NCE PEDIATRIC HOSPITALS Health Cooperation Group.
Since that date, all pediatrics, with the exception of hemato-oncology and neonatal medicine, is grouped on the Lenval site, which now handles about 55,000 emergencies per year.
The operation of these services relies mainly on the technical platform of the Lenval Foundation (fully digitized imaging, scanner, MRI, pharmacy, sterilization of medical devices, etc.).
This medical-technical support is regularly modernized to guarantee the children welcomed in the emergency department, in hospitalization, or in simple consultations, the best possible care.
This philanthropic spirit is the basis of the work of Baron de LENVAL. Every year, children with no social coverage, whether they reside in France or in other countries of Europe or the world, are welcomed and treated on the LENVAL site.
The Foundation also runs several social and medico-social centers for children:
· the Nursery takes in young children who have been abandoned or removed from their families;
· the Henri Germain Institute accommodates multi-handicapped children in boarding and semi-boarding conditions;
· the Les Chanterelles Institute provides care for children with hearing impairments or severe language disorders;
· the Maternal and Child Protection Centers offer pediatric consultations and pregnancy follow-ups;
· the Marina Picasso Center addresses the specific problems of young people aged 12 to 20.
