The long-awaited annual Nice-Cannes marathon will kick off this Sunday.

For the 13th consecutive year, the famous Alpes-Maritimes marathon connects the Promenade des Anglais in Nice to the Croisette in Cannes this Sunday, November 28th.

On this Friday or Saturday, November 27th, the athletes who will start from the “prom” have a meeting at the armband pick-up village located within the “Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Mรฉditerranรฉe” hotel.

Tomorrow they will cover the distance they chose when they registered in September (42.195 km / 20 km / 2ร—21.1 km / Relay Marathon).

The race is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the finish in Cannes expected around 10 a.m. at the Hotel Martinez. 45 minutes later, the prizes will be awarded to the winners during an official ceremony. The last runner is expected to arrive by 2 p.m.

Since 2008, the Nice-Cannes marathon has been highly popular thanks to its route, which is 95% along the coastline. Today, it represents a gathering of 82 nations and 13,000 participants each year and has become the second largest marathon in France, after the Paris marathon.

On the occasion of this event, traffic and parking restrictions will be implemented.
The Promenade des Anglais will be completely closed to traffic during part of the morning on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Parking will also be entirely prohibited on both the south and north sides of the roadway.

To access Nice West or Nice Cรดte d’Azur airport, traffic will also be modified. It is advised to take the A8 highway or the Mathis route, and to favor tram lines 2 and 3.
For Old Nice, using the Crotti descent is recommended.
