The ambitious renovation of this block of buildings was officially launched on April 5, 2006, following the signing of the agreement by various partners – the City of Nice, the State, the Regional Council, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, and the National Agency for the Improvement of Housing (ANAH).
Spanning three years, this O.P.A.H. (Programmed Operation for Housing Improvement) aimed to completely renovate both the common areas (facades, soundproofing, roof waterproofing, etc.) and private sections of this condominium of 803 housing units.
Comprising 3 blocks and 4 towers of 12 to 15 stories, Le Rouret was built in the 1960s and was in need of a real “facelift.” Today, the buildings are brand new and overlook the tramway maintenance center, for which architect Marc Barani received the Silver Square award in 2009.
The total cost of these works amounts to nearly ten million euros.
