From December 1st to January 1st, 2023, the city of Nice is decorated in Christmas colors. Numerous events and activities are planned to enchant this festive season.
As every year, the City of Nice celebrates the month of December with a multitude of Christmas activities. Throughout the month, you’ll have the opportunity to admire stunning illuminations, visit the famous Christmas market, or enjoy themed workshops for both young and old. We offer you a packed program for the month of December.
Christmas Market
Numerous Christmas products with around fifty chalets, all within a dining and craft space.
Opening Hours:
- Open from Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 9 pm (last entry at 8 pm)
- Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 11 pm (last entry at 10 pm)
- December 24th and 31st from 11 am to 7 pm (last entry at 6 pm)
The Sugar Shack
Your children can become one of the famous Christmas characters in a magical and dreamy atmosphere. They’ll have a choice of many face paintings at a low price.

Traditional Swedish songs and treats in partnership with the Swedish Consulate.

Santa’s House – Albert 1st Garden
House open every day from 11 am to 8 pm (Fridays and Saturdays until 10 pm)
- Santa’s presence until December 24 every Wednesday, weekends, and daily during school holidays from 2 pm to 7 pm.
- Souvenir photo with Santa until December 24 on weekends and daily during school holidays from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
- Children can take the opportunity to visit his house until January 1 inclusive.

Free Shows – Albert 1st Garden (3 pm)
Free shows, specially designed for a young audience, are offered every weekend and during school holidays in the heart of the Christmas village.
Christmas Illuminations
As every year, the City of Nice amazes us with its enchanting illuminations, which are also environmentally friendly, with 100% recyclable patterns and the exclusive use of LED lights.
The illuminations will be launched this Thursday, December 1st at 6 pm. The inauguration will take place in the presence of Christian Estrosi and the entire City Council. The opening of the Christmas village will follow immediately after this inauguration.
