At the end of this week, the Espace Magnan’s program is aimed at a young audience and presents this Saturday at 3 PM, “Alice Through the Looking Glass” by the Company L’autre lune, freely adapted from the sequel to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. A musical tale whose absurd and poetic universe takes us on a journey between dream and reality.
Alice has grown up; she has become a musician and recalls her dreams and sometimes her childhood nightmares. She remembers the man who told her stories full of fantasy and mystery, carrying her away in a whirlwind of invented words and images.
He takes her through the looking glass, and together they find themselves in an inverted world where reality, through successive transformations, becomes a chess game. Each square is an opportunity for a special encounter between Alice and a piece of the game: queen, knight, bishop…
Her journey allows her to progress from pawn to queen, from child to adult, as she finally decides what she truly wants to be.
