The law on the new territorial organization of the Republic (NoTRE law) opened the possibility for Regions, on a voluntary basis, to have all or part of the tasks related to the animation and coordination in the field of water management and aquatic environments transferred to them.
Renaud Muselier, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and Member of the European Parliament, had expressed to Prime Minister Edouard Philippe his desire to take on this management. By letter dated [date], the Prime Minister informed Renaud Muselier that a decree to this effect was in preparation.
