The Marine World Discovery Center invites you to explore the “Notre Mรฉditerranรฉe” exhibition until August 15th (daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM) at Terminal 2 of the Port of Nice, in partnership with the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This exhibition offers a chance to discover Mediterranean biodiversity. It consists of 11 double-sided panels adorned with underwater drawings and 28 underwater photos.
In addition, the Marine World Discovery Center invites you to participate in the interactive game “Eco-attitude” at Terminal 2 of the Port of Nice on August 5th and August 12th at 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 12:30 PM, in partnership with the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
With 220 million overnight stays in 2009, the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region is the leading tourist region in France.
Issue: While the strong tourist appeal of the region is a boon for many economic sectors, it also poses a threat to the balance of our environment.
Tourism impacts our environment (waste, wastewater, drinking water, etc.).
Objective: The goal of the “Eco Attitude” campaign is to raise tourists’ awareness of the fragility of our region’s ecosystems and to provide them with easy-to-implement solutions to minimize their impact.
This interactive tool also helps to promote the local environmental heritage by highlighting its richness, fragility, and protection.
Action: Six structures specializing in environmental education and sustainable development are intervening this summer, for the second year, in campsites, vacation villages, and hotels along the coast to engage with tourists.
The game takes place in a friendly atmosphere: a quiz-style presentation on a big screen with animated graphics. Participants vote live using electronic voting devices. Short documentaries on various topics (heritage, consumption, water, energy, waste, biodiversity) are included.
