The prefecture’s decree specifies that everyone aged eleven and over in all the municipalities of the Alpes-Maritimes must wear a mask in the following public spaces until Tuesday, November 2:
To justify this extension, the prefect mentions the incidence rate in the Alpes-Maritimes, which is 62 this Monday. This figure of 62 corresponds to the number of cumulative cases over 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants in the department.
He also notes that the positivity rate is 0.9%, meaning the number of positive individuals out of all tests conducted. Since wearing a mask is “likely to limit the risk of virus circulation in public spaces,” its mandatory nature has been extended.
