Marie-José Pérec, one of the greatest champions in history, was supposed to be the guest of the National Museum of Sport for an exceptional “Masterclass” this coming Friday, November 6, at the National Theater of Nice. Unfortunately, due to the reimposition of lockdown measures, the event had to be postponed.
The National Museum of Sport wanted to pay tribute to the extraordinary career of the triple Olympic champion, double world champion, and triple European champion whom the French affectionately call “Marie-Jo.” On this occasion, she had agreed to lead a masterclass that was scheduled to take place this Friday at the National Theater of Nice (TNN), hosted by Grégoire Margotton, a sports journalist and famous commentator for TF1. She was set to follow Michel Platini, a legendary figure in French football, the last athlete to have hosted a masterclass at the TNN.
Limited to 150 people in order to comply with health measures and safety protocols, everything had already been planned to spend an unforgettable evening with one of France’s most famous female athletes. But this was without anticipating the announcement of a new lockdown last Friday, which has disrupted all the plans of the Museum.
The meeting with the renowned French athlete has ultimately been postponed. It will be rescheduled when the health situation permits. In the meantime, all registrations have been automatically canceled, but already registered clients will receive priority booking. The future date of the event has not yet been announced; the Museum of Sport still needs to revise its plans for the remainder of the year.
