Laurent Wauquiez, president of Les Républicains, asked the mayor of Antibes, Jean Leonetti, to chair the national council, and he accepted this mission.
The presidency of this council by the mayor of Antibes must be validated by the vote of the national councilors on January 27th.
This national council sets the main directions of the party.
@JeanLeonetti: A very friendly thank you to @laurentwauquiez for his trust and his willingness to foster diversity and debate and to revive hope
Jean Leonetti, who will turn 70 this year, has been a deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes, a minister of European affairs, and has lent his name to a law for patients at the end of life. A centrist, he supported Alain Juppé during the LR primaries before the presidential election.
