A photography exhibition is being held until May 31 at the Maison du Combattant et des Associations Patriotiques in Nice. It traces the journey of the Patrouille de France in the United States.

The “Meaning” exhibition was initiated by the City of Nice and the France Etats Unis Nice association, and aims to move away from official clichés. It focuses on the emotional power of meetings and Franco-American friendship. On the occasion of the centenary of the First World War, the Patrouille de France, the pride of the French army, toured the United States for almost a month and a half to commemorate this anniversary date and thank the American people for their involvement in the First World War.

Two Frenchmen, Hervé Saint Helier and Yorick de Guichen, followed in the footsteps of this Air Force unit, from New York to San Francisco. The photographic work highlights the lights, atmospheres, and testimonies that compose the deep friendship between the two nations. “Meaning” serves as a duty of remembrance, as well as a message of fraternity and hope to build a more peaceful world.
