The Medef at the forefront to respond to the penalized situation of the productive sector

Latest News

The day before yesterday, the General Assembly of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry voted on a motion to request the Government to implement support measures for the economic sector, which has been heavily impacted by the effects of the Coronavirus.

Yesterday, an initial response came through the national MEDEF, where Philippe Renaudi, president of UPE 06, holds a seat on the Board, stating that “this epidemic is a ticking time bomb.”

According to this information, the Government has taken or will soon take the following measures:

  • Postponement of fiscal and social deadlines, or even grace remissions,
  • Very fast handling of partial unemployment (response within 48 hours),
  • Additional Sunday openings,
  • Exemptions from the limit on overtime hours,
  • Banks ready to consider on a case-by-case basis the postponement of credit repayments by up to 6 months,
  • BPI increasing its counter-guarantee for businesses through banks from 40 to 70%.

For Philippe Renaudi: “These are short-term measures that will be effective if the crisis does not worsen too much and does not last long.”

In addition to these measures, there are those from the South Region, whose support plan will be endowed with €12 million:

  • With the guarantee open to all: €5 million
  • With an Emergency Fund in the form of loans delegated to the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for sectors particularly affected: €5 million
  • With loans to the local sector of food craftsmanship and catering: €2 million
