The 88th edition of the Menton Lemon Festival is not spared by the pandemic. Although, like the Nice carnival, it is not canceled, it must be modified to adapt to the soaring number of COVID cases.
Shortened in 2020, canceled in 2021, in 2022, it will indeed take place, but under certain conditions. The city of Menton has indeed stated in a press release that it has chosen “not to maintain the 88th Lemon Festival in its usual form from February 12 to 27.”
Among the changes, there will be no parade or garden of lights this year. The municipality wants to limit gatherings of people as much as possible.
The exhibition of citrus motifs in the Biovรจs gardens will be maintained and will even be free and open to everyone this year. The city has also announced that the activities planned at the Palais de l’Europe will also be maintained.
To preserve this “festive spirit,” the City of Menton has invited its restaurateurs, hoteliers, and shopkeepers to embrace the colors of the Menton Lemon to participate in the festival, which this year has the theme “Opera and Dance.”
So, join us on February 12 for this somewhat special edition of the classic Menton Lemon Festival.
