The 2nd edition of the Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes, the 12th round of the FDJ French professional cycling cup, will see 17 teams and 120 riders compete, covering the distance from Puget-Théniers to Valberg (168 km and 4200 meters of elevation gain), this Tuesday, crossing 4 valleys and 19 municipalities.

Ahead of this professional race, various cycling events were proposed: the Mercan’Tour Classic Cyclo on Saturday, May 28, for amateurs with 2 courses starting and finishing in Valberg; the Coupe de France for South-East Cadet and Cadette Departments on Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29; as well as today’s Corporate Challenge in Valberg.

All of the races organized over these 3 days as part of the Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes events were supported by the Alpes-Maritimes Department.

The Alpes-Maritimes Department tirelessly promotes cycling in all its forms, by hosting and multiplying major events such as the Gravel Trophy on June 4 and 5, 2022, the regional DH MTB round on June 11 and 12, 2022, and this summer, the Enduro World Series – Electric on July 2 and 3, the DH MTB French Cup from July 22 to 24, as well as a round of the French Cross-Country MTB Cup in Levens from September 23 to 25.
