The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has set a goal for 2019 to sell the majority of its stake in the “Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur” (ACA) Group. It has entered into exclusive negotiations with the Caisse des Dépôts (Banque des Territoires) to sell 4 of the 5% it holds in the share capital of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur group.
This sale will contribute to reducing the community’s debt.
The Metropolitan Council will meet next Friday to present the terms of this operation and deliberate.
A first reaction comes from Dominique Boy-Mottard (left-wing independent): After fighting against the privatization of the airport, now the President of the Metropolis proposes that the Council sell 80% of its stake in the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur company. […] The motives for the deliberation are very clearly stated: this capital will be used for investment, of course, but also for debt reduction and lowering local taxes. […] What will we do when there’s nothing left to sell?
