The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis is leading the CityOpt project and invites 200 volunteer households in Nice equipped with the new Linky meters to get involved.

CityOpt follows the deployment in Nice of the new Linky smart electricity meters by ERDF.

Co-financed by the European Union and a consortium of seven major companies, CityOpt offers applicant households equipped with these new meters the opportunity to use a new application from September 2015 to June 2016 on a digital tablet that they will be given and can keep.

This application will measure their daily electricity usage habits, issue “alerts,” and provide users with advice on better managing their consumption.

An interconnected and sustainable metropolis, the 4th “smart city” globally, Nice Cรดte d’Azur remains a territory particularly concerned with energy issues, being at the end of the electrical chain in France.

The cities of Vienna and Helsinki are also involved in the project.
