The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is pursuing an ambitious development policy to foster business creation and employment. As part of this initiative, the Metropolis aims to reward companies that promote eco-responsible tourism and those contributing to the growth of an ecosystem dedicated to Artificial Intelligence through a call for projects and a call for expressions of interest.
Eco-Responsible Tourism
The call for expressions of interest is directed towards entrepreneurs in the hospitality, restaurant, and culinary crafts sectors who are engaged in eco-responsible tourism or support the transformation of the tourism sector.
Selected projects must demonstrate concrete actions to highlight an innovative and responsible business model such as resource economy, eco-mobility, and energy efficiency; promote a responsible tourism experience, particularly regarding waste management, combatting wastefulness, and the limited use of single-use plastics; use short supply chains and/or directly cultivate part of their production or use products that are organic and/or locally sourced.
The application files will be assessed by a selection committee comprising experts in tourism and environmental domains from various backgrounds. The selection criteria will focus on the impact in this field, as well as the project’s repercussions on the local economy and employment. Each awarded trophy will be accompanied by an economic aid ranging from €10,000 to €20,000.
The call for projects is open, and candidates have until July 31, 2021, inclusive, to submit their application. Further information on the Metropolis’s economic portal: https://business.nicecotedazur.org/AMITER
Artificial Intelligence
The call for projects for the implementation of demonstrators in the field of artificial intelligence will allow identifying companies carrying relevant initiatives and experimenting with promising projects.
Priority will be given to projects that are part of the strategic sectors of the territory, particularly health, eco-industries, mobility, cultural and creative industries, and smart cities. Besides the technical relevance and the economic outcomes of the project, social and environmental impact are also part of the selection criteria. Application files will be assessed by a selection committee comprising AI experts both internal and external to the Metropolis.
Selected projects will receive financial support ranging from €30,000 to €60,000, depending on the project’s complexity and the demonstrator’s economic impact on the territory, particularly in terms of job creation.
The call for projects is open, and candidates have until July 30, 2021, inclusive, to submit their application. Further information on the Metropolis’s economic portal: https://business.nicecotedazur.org/AAPIA
