The Metropolis of Nice obtains 12,000 additional vaccines for this weekend.

Latest News

On the afternoon of Thursday, March 4, the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, held a press briefing via video conference. About a dozen journalists joined to follow the evolution of Covid-19 and the possibility of accelerating the vaccination process in the Metropolitan area starting this weekend.

The increase in the pace of vaccination could not happen without the government’s authorization. Now, it is a done deal since the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, confirmed to the Mayor yesterday morning that, if the entire Metropolitan area is ready to implement it, no fewer than 12,000 vaccines will be provided. This is all for a 48-hour operation this weekend. With these additional 12,000 people, we will have 4,000 more individuals over 75 vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine and 8,000 people aged 50 to 74 with the AstraZeneca vaccine.

We obviously want to thank all the participants in this mobilization. The entire medical service, the firefighters, and the volunteers from various associations.

Vaccination is now open to all individuals in the following categories:

• People over the age of 75
• People aged 50 to 74 inclusive, suffering from comorbidities and/or with risk factors
• Health professionals (and other professionals in healthcare and medico-social establishments working with vulnerable individuals), home care aides working with vulnerable elderly and disabled people, firefighters

If you are concerned, you can get vaccinated now in one of the open vaccination centers.
