Christian Estrosi is attending the Web Summit in Lisbon
on the occasion of the awarding of the European Capital of Innovation 2017 prize at the Web Summit in Lisbon, a major annual event in the world of the Internet and new technologies.
The Web Summit has become, in a few years, a global reference event for digital technology: more than 1,000 start-ups present, 500 speakers, and over 20,000 visitors.
The Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis had applied for the prize and was selected among the ten finalists by the European Commission.
Created by the European Commission, the European Capital of Innovation award recognizes the efforts of European cities to promote innovation and thereby improve the quality of life of their citizens. Nice hopes to follow in the footsteps of the previous two winning cities: Barcelona and Amsterdam.
