The Council of Mayors of the Metropolis met yesterday morning in crisis management.

Faced with the severity of the situation, the mayors identified certain priorities and made recommendations to the Government:

To reinforce confinement measures to better combat the spread of the virus and to make mask-wearing mandatory not only for healthcare staff but also for all sectors still in operation;

To offer Covid-19 testing to all patients presenting clinical symptoms that may suggest the diagnosis;

To make Hydroxychloroquine available to the medical community, which can be prescribed with the consent of patients or their families.

Most importantly of these generalities, a decision with concrete economic implications was adopted: “From the end of March, the Metropolis will cover the professional rent costs for self-employed individuals and very small businesses, providing support to the thousands of often family-run businesses for which partial unemployment will have no impact,” announced the President of the Metropolis, Christian Estrosi.
