On the occasion of the NCA Metropole Council session, a motion was presented by Christian Estrosi, who was also one of the signatories.
It opposes the proposal to establish a detention center in Saint Laurent du Var, at Iscles-La Baronne, as had been considered by state services (Ministry of Justice and Prefecture).
The text, voted by the majority and the FN and DvD representatives, while the socialists, ecologists, and DvG abstained, states: “while being aware of the necessity to address the obsolescence of the Nice detention center, we wish to express once again our strong opposition to any non-consensual project, and we fully support the municipalities of Saint Laurent du Var and La Gaude.”
In this dance of passing responsibility onto others, the rehabilitation of the current Nice prison, essential given the current situation that does not meet the operating standards required by law, and the expansion of the one in Grasse could solve the problem.
The mayors of the Metropole, particularly those directly concerned, along with Christian Estrosi playing the role of protector, have found the right strategy: it’s your turn!
But has someone informed the mayor of Grasse about such generosity?
