The metropolitan steamroller vaccinates everything in its path.

Latest News

Christian Estrosi made a point of discussing the progress of vaccination in the metropolis. The latest figures are very good. There is even a three-week lead over the forecasts. He even states that he is ready for possible influxes of people before the school holidays.

300,000 residents of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur metropolis have already received the first jab against COVID-19. As a reminder, the Metropolis includes 49 municipalities. It was a day to be marked in redโ€ฆ or rather on a certificate of attestation.

It was therefore a somewhat special day for Jean-Marc Tragliaferry. This resident of Roussillon-sur-Tinรฉe received it personally from the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi.

From now on, the metropolis’s goal is clear: “to reach 80% by the end of August.” According to the latest figures, about 60% of the residents of the Nice-Cรดte dโ€™Azur Metropolis have received at least one dose. Better yet, these results exceed the objectives set by the president of the metropolis. This would represent 50% of the eligible population.

A New Arrow to Add to the Bow of the Vaccination Campaign

The Mayor of Nice emphasized that all tourists and all French people can come to get vaccinated in his city. He does not hesitate to state that “236,000 injections have been administered in the vaccination centers.” But to manage the vaccine stocks, free serological tests will be introduced next week. As a reminder, the High Authority for Health recommends a single dose if you have already contracted COVID-19. The aim is to avoid wasting the precious serum to perform a second injection.

An Expansion of Vaccination for the Young

The mayor announced that children between 12 and 18 years old will be able to get vaccinated starting Tuesday next week. His goal is clearly to “vaccinate as many young people as possible to avoid a fourth wave in September.” That is why he launched a tailor-made campaign for adults over 18 yesterday.

All residents of Nice could go from 12 pm to 9 pm to the vaccination center at the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure. All this without needing an appointment. A health insurance card and ID were sufficient. He aims to “avoid a fourth wave or, at least, a resurgence of the epidemic.” According to the latest count, there were “253,788 registered on the vaccination platform, including 168,767 just in Nice and 85,021 for the other municipalities.”
