The Metropolitan Tourism Office: A New Tool for Territorial Attractiveness Policy

Latest News

By application of the MAPTAM law, the Mรฉtropole Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur has enacted the transfer of the “Promotion of tourism, including the creation of tourist offices” responsibility from the municipalities to the Mรฉtropole, resulting in the creation of a Metropolitan Tourist Office on January 1, 2019.

Yesterday, the installation of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Tourist Office and the election of its President took place.

Christian Estrosi, President of the Mรฉtropole, was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Tourist Office. Rudy Salles was elected Deputy President, Jean-Marie Bogini, Mayor of Isola, was elected 2nd Vice-President, and Denis Zanon was appointed Director.

The metropolitan tourist office will have to carry out promotion and enhancement activities for the entire offer of the metropolitan territory, whether it be the coastal area, the midlands, or the highlands.

Outdoor activities and ski resorts will therefore complement the range of activities to be promoted thanks to the diversity offered by our metropolitan territory.

The ports of Azur, after some infrastructure adaptations, will also be among the assets of the territory to promote.

Christian Estrosi, โ€ฆanother hat!, expressed his full commitment: โ€œIn a highly competitive environment, major metropolises must have very dynamic economic, tourism, academic, and residential development policies. It is in this perspective that I will announce at the beginning of 2019 the creation of a territorial brand aimed at strengthening the unity of the territory and setting a course to enhance our attractiveness.โ€
