Launched online in September 2009, the Nice Côte d’Azur Sports Portal has just reached one million visitors. A very good result for this collaborative platform that allows Nice clubs to communicate, free and unlimited, about their news, results, or events.
In just a few years, the Sports Portal has become an essential platform for Nice sports news through its numerous articles (more than 6,000 to date), photo galleries, and videos. The principle is simple: a club with its headquarters in Nice can request free integration into the portal by sending an email to franck.viano@nicecotedazur.org. It then receives its ID and password, which allow access to manage its page and publish its information. On this page, you can find all the club’s or sports association’s information (address, phone, email, etc.) and all the articles published by it.
But, the Sports Portal is also an agenda where clubs can post their schedule of matches or events, a newsletter sent each week to 9,500 subscribers (including all the clubs on the portal), its Facebook page, and a mobile site accessible on smartphones and other electronic tablets. A suite of free services that clubs now regularly use.
With an average of 25,000 visits per month, the Sports Portal has become a true showcase for local sports but also a partner of the global search engine, Google, which indexes all articles in its news engine, thus providing clubs with premium visibility on the web. Handy for most sports associations that still do not have a site or social media presence.
