The Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, and the President of the CNOSF, Denis Masseglia, participated last night in the grand debate “Democracy, Citizenship, and Sport” of the CDOS 06 at the National Sports Museum.
Nearly 250 people gathered last night at the National Sports Museum to participate in the citizen exchange event, as part of the national grand debate. The event featured the presence of the Minister of Sports, Roxana Maracineanu, who engaged in discussions about the theme Democracy, Citizenship, and Sport.
Several questions were on the agenda: what should be done to enhance the recognition of sporting commitment within the associative sports movement? What can be done to develop, reinforce, and seek new resources dedicated to the sports movement? What about recognition of the volunteer status?… so many questions for which the Minister of Sports had little time to respond.
“It is difficult to understand the reality on the ground from the Ministry. Sport deserves a larger place within our policies. Hosting the 2024 Olympics will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to seize this topic (…) Sports volunteering, disability, inclusion, employment, sports financing, access to equipment… sport is at the heart of our fellow citizens’ daily lives,” said Roxana Maracineanu before heading to the MAMAC to kick off the countdown to 100 days before the Women’s World Cup!
