The Mixed and Professional Equality Award in PACA: a Nice-based company honored

Latest News

The network Les entreprises pour la Cité (www.imsentreprendre.com), responsible for the Regional Platform of the Diversity Charter, organized the first edition of the Gender Equality and Professional Equality Awards in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in Marseille.
These awards aim to recognize, on a regional level, the most innovative and committed companies regarding gender equality in the workplace.

Composed of regional stakeholders committed to gender equality in the workplace (DIRECCTE, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Council, Regional Delegation for Women’s Rights and Equality, MEDEF PACA, CCIR), the jury praised the commitment of four companies for this first edition of the Gender Equality and Professional Equality Awards in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, including the Nice-based Convers in the Work-Life Balance category.

In order to move away from a predominantly student workforce in call centers, which are known for high turnover, Convers, a generalist call center with 200 employees based in Nice, established a flexible working hours system since the company’s inception 19 years ago.

This is a permanent contract (full-time or part-time) by which the employee chooses their working hours (each employee selects the number of hours they wish to work monthly and submits their availability for the upcoming week every Wednesday evening).

This system has facilitated employment access for many women and subsequently promoted the employment of seniors.

The five principles of the flexible working hours system are:
– In all cases, it is a full-time or part-time permanent contract
– The employee chooses their monthly hours (option to change 2 to 3 times a year)
– The employee selects their working hours by submitting their weekly availability before Wednesday evening
– The schedule is established based on the availability of each teleoperator and their contractual hours
– The employee has the option to declare “unavailability” (e.g., during school holidays) outside of their paid leave

What results have been achieved?
Thanks to the flexible working hours system, a more mature workforce has been integrated into the company. Convers has been able to improve its performance in terms of regularity, punctuality, commitment, and customer satisfaction.

Stability of the client portfolio (95% of Convers clients are among the 100 largest companies in France) and a turnover rate of only 1.9%.
