This summer, the City of Nice set up an exhibition on the Quai des Etats-Unis, featuring a series of 10 panels measuring 1.80 m by 1.50 m.

Beyond their sensual aesthetics, these large-format photographs, created by artist Olivier Monge, revealed the intimate relationship between Nice and Turin.
Indeed, the two cities mutually influenced each other at the time when the County of Nice was under the aegis of the House of Savoy.

Since August 30, Olivier Monge’s photographs, enriched with about twenty others, have been displayed at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni, the heart of the Turin celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

In total, 40 photographs focused on the culture, heritage, and architecture of Nice and Turin will reveal the colors, shapes, and landscapes common to the two cities.

These photographs by Olivier Monge are extracted from the book Nice-Torino, published by Gilletta/Territoire/Hapax editions.

Furthermore, as part of the festivities for the 150 years of Italian unity, this exhibition will be presented at the Urbanism and Architecture Forum in November 2011, in Nice.
