The XIII edition of the festival begins today with the presentation of the program. It will run until March 6, with the awards ceremony taking place during a gala evening under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Italian Embassy.
The films, all strictly comedies, come from the Czech Republic, Spain, France, England, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Japan, Italy, and the United States.
The program will be presented during three daily screenings (at 11 am, 3 pm, and 7:30 pm) at the Thรฉรขtre des Variรฉtรฉs.
In addition to the President GABRIELE MUCCINO, who recently announced his new American film starring Adrien Brody, the jury will also include: ROBERT DAVI, American actor and producer; BARMAK AKRAM, Afghan director, screenwriter, and producer (Wajma, an Afghan Love Story, best screenplay at the Sundance Festival; Kabuli Kid, presented at the 65th Venice Festival); VINCENT LE LEURCH, journalist at Film Franรงais.
The jury will be joined by the public vote, which will act as an additional jury.
“I decided to add the public vote as an additional jury, a great friend of comedy, which always determines success,” said Ezio Greggio, the Festival’s director. “About twenty members of the public jury will cast their majority vote for the best film, and it will be counted along with the other votes.”
