The Muslims of France observing the fast during the month of Ramadan will begin on Monday, May 6th, as announced by the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) and the Grand Mosque of Paris on Saturday, in a statement. This date changes every year and depends on the observation of the Moon.
During Ramadan, one of the pillars of Islam, believers are invited to refrain from drinking, eating, and having sexual relations from dawn โ as soon as one can โdistinguish a white thread from a black thread,โ says the Quran โ until sunset.
