The central nave, the side aisles, and the transepts of the Cathedral were crowded last night for the charity concert by the Soloists of Monte-Carlo, conducted by Jean-Louis Dedieu, and organized by Rector Father Angela as part of the services in memory of the victims.
A wonderful evening with an unusual program of film music, which delighted the audience: the notes of both old and recent pieces replaced, for one evening, the baroque music that is usually heard in this place.
It was also an opportunity to convey a message of consolation and hope to the audience who, in large numbers, applauded the musicians’ performances for a long time.
In the face of the inevitable, Rector Angela tells us, we must “gather and stay together.” Words that make even more unnecessary and culpable those more venomous, and unfortunately too numerous, which have been spread in recent days.
All the funds collected will be donated to the Fondation de France for the needs of the attack victims.
