On Saturday, December 24, at 12 p.m., the Fourneau Economique is organizing the traditional Christmas meal.
This is an opportunity for the mayor of Nice and Joëlle Martinaux, the deputy for social activities, to acknowledge the volunteers of this charitable association and thank them, during this festive season, for their daily work with the less fortunate.
Thus, nearly 20,000 meals (prepared on-site by the volunteers) are served every year, averaging 120 meals over 170 working days, with periods that can reach up to 200 meals during the Christmas holiday season.
In addition to these meals, the association offers listening and administrative advice around an afternoon snack three times a week: various activities are also offered such as computer, drawing, singing, and sewing classes… 70 people per day take advantage of these workshops.
