The Moulins and the Ariane, the two neighborhoods of Nice considered “sensitive,” will be part of the new ANRU plan, dubbed 2, for which the State will allocate five billion euros, funded with the help of Action Logement (collector of the 1% housing contribution).
The goal is to generate, consequently, 20 billion euros in construction work and 300,000 jobs in the economy, and to give the concerned areas new momentum in housing and transportation.
The first plan, launched in 2003 by Jean-Louis Borloo, focused solely on urban planning, whereas this new plan, which will be established over ten years, aims to have a “cross-cutting approach” leveraging three areas: economic development, urban renewal, and social cohesion.
The project is immense, but these funds will enable the implementation of a more effective social housing policy in the face of growing needs, as demonstrated in the debate held the day before yesterday at the Metropolitan Council.
