On the occasion of Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil’s exhibition at the contemporary gallery of the MAMAC (January 27 – June 10), the equestrian brigade of the Security and Municipal Police Department will perform an artistic presentation at 5:30 PM on the MAMAC forecourt!
A rider and a horse from the equestrian brigade will parade on the museum’s forecourt. The horse will be equipped with an equestrian adornment designed by the artist Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil.
Entitled Starship, this replica of equestrian adornments created for national funerals of illustrious figures such as Victor Hugo, evokes another ceremonial passage, a ritual of transition. Presented on a structure of battens within the gallery, this ceremonial attire is simultaneously updated, glorified, and dramatized.
