The “Mud Day” lived up to all its promises!

The Mud Day, which took place this Saturday, June 20th for the first time in the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, specifically at the Grand Prรฉ de Levens, was a resounding success.
22 obstacles combining mud, ice, electricity… which require strength, dexterity, cooperation at times, and above all, courage, all set over 13 kilometers of a rugged obstacle course in the hinterland of Nice, that’s the challenge!

About 8,000 participants set off from the starting line, individually or in groups, in successive waves, to tackle this crazy course. The reason for their participation? Sometimes a challenge among friends, or against oneself, simply for a sporting spirit, an adventurous nature perhaps, but also for the spirit of competition.

Indeed, a wave of participants took on the challenge called the Mud Chrono. The idea is to crown the fastest team to overcome all obstacles and cross the finish line, and in this game, it was the Lou French Team that won in 1 hour, 23 minutes, and 18 seconds! They even had the honor of receiving their prize from the hands of Christian Estrosi, the mayor-deputy of Nice.
Congratulations to the brave “Mud Guys” Serge, Jean, Rรฉmi, and Max who make up the team.

A โ€œMud Kidsโ€ course set up for the occasion

After the residents of Brittany two weeks ago, it was those of the Cรดte d’Azur who benefited, but not just the adults, as a โ€œMud Kidsโ€ course had been set up for the occasion.

Open to children from 7 years old, it features fewer, simpler obstacles and consists of a loop of a few hundred meters to be completed several times depending on the age category (2 times for 7-9 year olds and 3 times for 9-11 year olds, for example).
They were then awarded the famous โ€œMudaille,โ€ a sign of completing the course, just like the adults! For them, there are no rankings; the spirit of cooperation and self-accomplishment is more than enough for their satisfaction.

The Mud Day is also a human experience. The commonly shared trials offer the opportunity to interact during the day with different teams from across the region, to organize and meet up at the next Mud Day, and even encounter well-known personalities. Present as mere spectators of the event or directly involved, such as Marc Raquil, the talented Martiniquais athlete, world champion in the relay in 2003 and now a coach, who was present in Levens with a team he trains.

This new generation obstacle course is certainly not done drawing in the crowds.
