Final resolution for the Nice Muslim place of worship, which opened its doors yesterday, Saturday at 10 a.m., after a fierce political battle between local authorities and the state.
The prefect of Alpes-Maritimes has given his green light for the opening of a mosque that can accommodate 800 worshippers in Nice, while recommending its manager to settle relations with the Saudi owner through a donation.
The decree authorizing the mosque’s opening was notified to the association managing the mosque and to the city of Nice. The place opened its doors to worshippers this Saturday at 10 a.m.
The opening of this large prayer hall in the west of Nice was strongly opposed by the former mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi (LR).
