The National Front denounces the sale of shares in Nice Airport.

Latest News

The elected representatives of the National Front have found a way to give voice to the opposition against Christian Estrosi’s actions. Yesterday it was the new property tax, today it’s the sale of the shares held by the Metropolis (and incidentally the Paca Region) in the capital of the Nice and Côte d’Azur Airport, which also includes the airfields of La Bocca and La Mole, near Saint-Tropez.

Through a press release, Marie-Christine Arnautu – elected to the metropolitan council, and Philippe Vardon, regional councilor, highlight Christian Estrosi’s change of direction and remind a few truths: “In February 2015, the City of Nice organized a local consultation with a very clear question: ‘Are you in favor of the privatization of the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport?’ A privatization planned in the Macron law, which Christian Estrosi then considered as a ‘dispossession of the Azurians’ heritage.’ Unequivocally, 97.4% of the 36,000 citizens of Nice who expressed their views opposed this privatization.”

As a reminder, this “referendum consultation” was an evident manipulation designed to present a supposed will of the citizens at the ministerial table. It was organized without any neutrality, quite the opposite, with overt propaganda in favor of the “no.”

The two National Front representatives raise, and themselves answer, the question about this 180° change of position: “Just 3 years after organizing this vote, it is indeed Christian Estrosi (supported by Renaud Muselier) who will now accentuate this ‘dispossession’ by putting up for sale 4% of the 5% shares held by the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, totaling 8%. A change of stance with only one reason: the coffers are empty!”

And yes, it should be that! The confirmation could come from the response the Prefecture will want to give to Patrick Allemand’s inquiry regarding the supposed placement of the local authority under “alert!”

If true, this could explain that: they are selling the family silverware!

The two complainants claim their consistency: “For our part, we have not changed our opinion: in February 2015, we were against the privatization of the Nice airport, and in March 2018 we are against the sale of these shares, which constitute the last potential action of our communities on this strategic infrastructure for our tourism and our economy.”
