The National Rally opposes the establishment of two “temporary” slaughterhouses approved by the prefecture in the Alpes-Maritimes department for the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha.
According to Lionel Tivoli, departmental secretary: “We have been condemning ritual slaughter for many years, as it is a particularly cruel time for the animal because it is done without stunning. There is no reason to give in to the demands of Islamic communitarianism.”
His conclusion is imperative: “We demand the closure of these two slaughterhouses in the Alpes-Maritimes. Communitarianism must not prevail over animal welfare.”
