Since Christmas 1998, the Maison de Pays of Lucéram and Haut Paillon has been organizing, in collaboration with associations and the residents of the Commune, a “nativity scene circuit” in the village. The tradition is now well established.
Thousands of visitors stroll through the alleys of the village and the Peïra-Cava resort, embarking on a discovery of the nativity scenes. Lucéram experiences a rare bustling atmosphere.
Of all ages, of all nationalities, and sometimes even from different religious confessions, the nativity scenes create unity. They bring people together.
Visitors are delighted with their discoveries. An unforgettable spectacle unfolds before their eyes. They wander through the transformed alleys, adorned with a multitude of green branches decorated with ribbons and balls in the colors of Lucéram: red and gold, all in perfect harmony.
From the smallest, inside half a walnut shell, to the largest, measuring 10 meters long, more than 450 nativity scenes are displayed in the streets, cellars, on fountains, under porches, at the Church, at the tower, in the chapels, at the bread oven, at the Nativity Scene Museum, the Museum of Old Tools, at the Maison de Pays/ Tourist Office, at the Placette, at the shops, at the Val Del Prat mill, and in Peïra-Cava, Turini, and Camp d’Argent.
The volunteers of the Maison de Pays have a delightful surprise in store for visitors who discover the Nativity Scene Museum on Adrien Barralis Square.
