On Thursday, January 31, the Nautipolis complex presented an entirely new offer combining sports and health. “Connect +” will allow sedentary individuals or those suffering from health conditions to engage in regular and supervised physical activity.
Who said technology couldn’t be a valuable ally for our health? Innovation occasionally surprises us, and today, it’s possible to use digital tools to get our bodies back in shape. The community aquatic complex Nautipolis is launching the Connect + solution, aimed at people with serious illnesses or those simply uneasy about sports. “About 60% of French people engage in regular physical activity. Our offer is targeted at the remaining 40% for whom sports is not evident,” said Denis Daon, president of Connect +.
This new measurement dimension starts with a fitness assessment conducted in several stages. It first involves determining the person’s physiological age (meaning the actual age of their body based on their physical condition) and then undergoing a series of tests. These include measuring stress levels, balance, flexibility, and strength. For individuals with medical constraints, specific monitoring is planned to ensure they are never put at risk. The advantage of digital is also to safeguard the user’s health. The ultimate goal is to make the person independent and to help them enjoy this physical activity. Everything is part of a continuous process.
Doctors can prescribe the Connect + program, implying a strong partnership between the medical field and the sports staff of the complex. The real cost of this individualized follow-up is unknown, but it is separate from the standard subscription prices at the complex. These are around 60 euros per month for nearly full access to the facilities. Nautipolis has undergone a phase of renovations and offers a series of elements such as fitness and a wellness area. “We wanted to have recreational and sports areas in Sophia Antipolis. A standalone pool is not suitable if disconnected from other activities,” explained Jean Leonetti, President of the Sophia Antipolis Agglomeration Community.
