The NCA Metropolis and EDF together to build the smart city of tomorrow

On the occasion of the signing of the strategic partnership between the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis and EDF, Christian Estrosi shared his vision for the future of Nice: “The attractiveness of Nice, both as a city and a metropolis, will be based on new technologies and sustainable development. It will offer long-term conditions for economic development, relying both on traditional tourism activities and at the same time on innovative models.”

In fact, the framework agreement with EDF fits perfectly into these objectives by addressing sustainability and technological innovation through two essential axes: promoting the exploitation of energy potential and supporting innovation by encouraging eco-exemplarity.

Following the Agenda 21 adopted by the Metropolis, optimizing energy resources in general, and renewable energies in particular, is a key element of a forward-looking vision for urban planning that the OIN Plaine du Var will encompass in the coming years.

The economic development of this territory will involve high-performance energy and environmental construction within the Smart Grid program, as well as electric mobility, such as charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and smart parking.

This partnership aims to provide concrete solutions and responses to the need for growth through the innovation of Nice and its territory.
