The NCAP is holding its gala at the Jean Bouin ice rink.

From 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM, the Nice ice rink will be taken over by Russians, Spaniards, Americans, and of course, French participants. This presents an opportunity for the people of Nice to enjoy a day filled with a colorful spectacle.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5:30 PM and will be commented on by Loric (presenter of the “pièces jaunes” in Nice, former radio host).

Building on its experience from previous years, Nice Côte d’Azur Patinage is organizing this event, which will feature teams competing in the Open, Young Hopefuls, Hopeful, and Elite categories. This gala is a part of the world championship, a source of pride for the organizers. A modern version of group figure skating, ice ballet comes even closer to a theatrical show, as each roughly six-minute program is performed according to a chosen theme, with skaters in costumes performing either solo or in groups. Moreover, this competition, which combines dance with athletic performance, is the only one of its kind organized in our region.

Day’s Schedule:

7:30 AM to 11:30 AM: Official training; Teams presenting a choreographed exercise (17 min).

10:00 AM: Drawing of the choreographed exercise in a room at the Sports Palace.

11:25 AM to 12:25 PM: Official training; Teams not presenting a choreographed exercise (10 min).

11:30 AM to 1:00 PM: Lunches scheduled for teams in rotation based on performance times. Meals for these teams provided at the Don Bosco Institute.

2:00 PM to 3:30 PM: Choreographed exercise.

3:45 PM: Drawing of the free skating program in the “joy and clarity” room of the Don Bosco Institute.

A welcome cocktail will be served on-site.

5:00 PM to 7:00 PM: Dinners scheduled for teams in rotation based on performance times. Meals for these teams provided at the Don Bosco Institute.

5:30 PM: Presentation of the teams, anthems.

6:30 PM to 10:30 PM: Competition.

10:45 PM to 11:30 PM: Awards ceremony.
