The traditional “Neighbors’ Day” will take place in Nice, and throughout France, this Friday, May 23. Created in 1990, Neighbors’ Day is expected to bring together nearly 15 million participants this year, half of whom are outside France. The association “Voisins Solidaires” continually promotes this initiative, which over the years has become a supportive network between neighbors.
Neighbors’ Day is an opportunity to meet your neighbors, build social connections, and break away from the anonymity and isolation that can prevail in cities…
Families today are more dispersed and elderly people are often isolated.
Neighborhood ties are a potential source of solidarity to exploit for very practical actions like childcare, tool lending, sharing skills, or making small food purchases to help an elderly person…
The organization of this event depends on the residents: locating a place, communicating to inform neighbors, posting a sign in the building lobby, and then gathering around a drink or a festive buffet…
In all neighborhoods, courtyards, building lobbies, and on the squares: the atmosphere will be one of sharing and good cheer!
Thanks to everyone’s mobilization, the previous edition was a great success, with over 200 sites celebrating and the involvement of several thousand people from Nice!!
