The Isola 2000 Wastewater Treatment Plant being obsolete, a new facility had become necessary to sustainably address the challenges in terms of sanitation.
The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, responsible for water quality with an in-house company, carried out the project, and the new Isola 2000 wastewater treatment plant was inaugurated this Monday in the presence of authorities.
This accomplishment utilizes the latest technologies and is highly environmentally friendly: installation of 250 m² of solar panels, integration of a biofiltration process, and on-site sludge management through composting.
This station, with a capacity of 9,900 population-equivalent, represents an investment of €9,335,000 including tax, funded by the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, which benefits from subsidies from the Water Agency (in accordance with the Metropolis Contract), the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the Regional Council, and ADEME.
