The new literary work by Thierry Jan

Latest News

Our friend and contributor Thierry Jan has picked up the pen once more to write a new book. This time, Thierry has changed genres and chosen “noir.” We are delighted to offer you the chance to discover this new novel and hope that it will captivate you as it has captivated us.

villefranche.jpg This novel, a detective story, is the first in a series. Inspector Hennic is called to Villefranche-sur-Mer to solve a case. A man is found dead in his hotel room, having suffered a nosebleed. The coroner does not understand the reasons for this death, the autopsy finds nothing, and unable to explain the death, the coroner does not sign the burial permit.

The investigation then begins, and Inspector Hennic meets the other guests of this boarding house, a family pension where everyone knows each other. The guest of room number 3 had only been there for a short time and did not belong to the establishment’s circle. The inspector will conduct his investigation, uncovering through the guests and the victim a sordid story whose tragic events took place long ago in Belgium. The evidence mounts and another person is found dead. She too suffered a nosebleed……..

This first investigation of Inspector Hennic will soon be followed by more detective stories. The author has created this character and is already working on the next case, which is expected to be presented to the public in September.

Thierry Jan is a seasoned writer. He has three published novels: “Le dernier été” at Mille Plumes, “Mon oncle Jules” and “Le Sergent Pistache” with his new publisher Edilivre. He is trying out a new genre, as he previously wrote regional-themed novels. The detective genre seems to be the new direction where he exercises his writing talent.

We met him, and without revealing too much, we can share that his inspector is currently solving a new puzzle. Is he the new Hercule Poirot?

“Not exactly,” the author tells us, “even though it’s true that he has read all the works of the great novelist Agatha Christie. Inspector Hennic is a cop with unconventional methods and he always compares an investigation to an equation! Math lovers should like this inspector,” he concludes.
